Southwest International Trucks in Arlington, TX is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Technician A. This full-time role offers competitive pay, full benefits, and company incentives.

You will diagnose and repair diesel engines, perform maintenance, and interpret OEM procedures while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety standards. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, OEM certifications, and the ability to mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Advanced heavy‑duty diesel diagnostic and repair competency.
• Advanced OEM certifications required by service leadership.
• ASE Master Medium-Heavy Truck status preferred.
• Technical leadership, communication, and mentoring ability.
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned repair time.
• Ownership of tools and toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Inspection & Diagnosis of diesel engines and related systems using scan tools and diagnostics.
• Repair & Overhaul of injectors, glow plugs, turbochargers, transmissions, brakes and steering.
• Maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, wheel alignments and brake checks.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, fault trees, service bulletins, and OEM procedures.
• Record keeping for compliance and warranty purposes.
• Safety compliance in the shop and with equipment.
• Complete tasks within established timeframes.
• Assist with difficult repairs and provide mentoring.

Diesel Mechanic / Technician A

Location: Arlington, TX

Schedule:Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Compensation:25% of Door Rate + full benefits

Position Overview:

Southwest International Trucksis seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Technician A to join our Arlington Team. This full-time role offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and company incentives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspection & Diagnosis: Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines and related systems (fuel, ignition, exhaust, emissions, electrical) using handheld scan tools, laptop-based diagnostics and traditional mechanical tests
• Repair & Overhaul: Replace or repair components such as injectors, glow plugs, turbochargers, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems; perform full engine overhauls when needed
• Maintenance: Carry out routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacements, wheel alignments and brake checks
• Interpret wiring diagrams, fault trees, service bulletins, and OEM repair procedures
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service and maintenance records for compliance and warranty purpose
• Safety Compliance: Follow shop and workplace safety protocols while handling tools, parts, and equipment
• Complete assigned tasks within established timeframes
• Assist with difficult repairs, quality concerns, technician coaching and perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Advanced heavy-duty diesel diagnostic and repair competency
• Advance OEM certifications required by service leadership
• ASE Master Medium-Heavy Truck status preferred
• Technical leadership, communication, and mentoring ability
• Ability to work independently and mage assigned repair time
• Ownership of tools and toolbox

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Pre-employment drug screening
• Pre-employment physical examination
