Job summary

Penske is seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level in Sanford, NC. You will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, learning Penske's vehicle maintenance processes and using cutting-edge technology.

You'll work with experienced supervisors and master technicians, receiving industry-certified training to grow your career. Applicants should be mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and capable of meeting safety and DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools; follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and ensuring vehicles are safe for customers.
• Logging, researching and completing repairs using Penske tools and technologies, including basic diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance such as tire rotations and lubrication, plus some electrical and cooling system work.
• Partnering with manager to learn new skills via Penske training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
