Job summary

Penske in Jackson, Mississippi is seeking an experienced Technician II to maintain and repair a diverse fleet. You will perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics, work with state-of-the-art tools, and ensure vehicles are safe and ready for the road.

You will work with limited supervision, mentor junior techs, and gain ongoing training through Penske's technician certification program. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of practical vehicle maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certification preferred.
  • Specialized training and experience in diagnosing major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); ASE Certification and 608/609 preferred.
  • Experienced using diagnostic equipment and shop tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems.
  • Log work and use Penske tools to diagnose and repair.
  • Keep the work area clean and safe.
  • Learn new skills through Penske's technician training and certification programs.
  • Work on other projects as assigned by supervisor.
