Job summary

Ecology Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment in the Long Beach shop. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs, and support fleet operations under the Fleet & Maintenance department.

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or diploma in automotive technology or related field preferred.
• Proven experience with diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance services.
• Diagnose, inspect and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems.
• Work under limited supervision following written instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards.
• Use vehicle computer diagnostic tools to identify failure modes.
• Estimate time and material costs for repairs.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct annual safety checks on vehicles.
• Complete paperwork using fleet maintenance software.
• Assist other mechanics and review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on DVIR.
