Job summary
Ecology Auto Parts, Inc. seeks a Diagnostic Diesel Technician to join our Fleet & Maintenance team in Long Beach.
You will diagnose engine issues using Cummins Insite and Paccar DAVIE4, interpret fault codes, update ECU software, and perform electrical and emissions diagnostics on heavy-duty trucks. The role demands 3+ years as a diesel mechanic, HS diploma (tech cert preferred), and comfort with electronic diagnostic tools.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience with advanced troubleshooting abilities.
- Proven experience with Cummins and Paccar engine diagnostics, software use, and repairs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification in Diesel Technology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair engine issues using OEM diagnostic platforms (Cummins Insite, Paccar DAVIE4).
- Conduct electrical, emission system, and sensor diagnostics on heavy-duty diesel trucks.
- Interpret fault codes and performance data, update ECU software, and calibrate sensors as needed.
- Perform advanced preventative maintenance and major component overhauls when necessary.
- Troubleshoot aftertreatment systems, DEF issues, DPF regs, and other emissions concerns.
