Ecology Auto Parts Inc. in San Diego, CA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, service, and repair heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment in our shop.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect systems, interpret diagnostic data, and support other mechanics while adhering to safety standards. Qualifications

• Three or more years of relevant work experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Valid driver’s license and legal eligibility to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent; automotive tech certification preferred.
• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to read technical manuals/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance services.
• Inspects, diagnoses and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Works under limited supervision and follows written instructions and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards and safety procedures.
• Utilizes vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Estimates time and material costs and requisitions parts.
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Completes required paperwork in fleet maintenance software and documents repair times.
• Assist other mechanics in project work and review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
