Job summary

RR Waste and Septic is expanding, seeking a diesel mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair diesel engines and equipment. The candidate should have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of diesel systems.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing routine maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and ensuring safety along with accurate record-keeping. Flexibility for overtime and a valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with diesel mechanics training.
• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with engine repair knowledge.
• Ability to read manuals, diagrams and schematics.
• Experience using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems.
• Clean driving record may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect engines, vehicles and equipment to identify issues and plan repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and filter replacements.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems with tools.
• Repair or replace faulty engine components, brakes and transmissions.
• Overhaul engines and restore performance when needed.
• Test repaired equipment for proper function and safety.
• Keep detailed maintenance records of parts and labor.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent injuries.
• Stay updated on diesel engine trends and new models.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate repairs.
