Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to inspect, repair and maintain diesel engines across a fleet of trucks and vehicles. You will diagnose performance issues, replace worn parts, perform preventative maintenance and use timing lights, testers and scan tools to ensure optimal operation.

Strong teamwork and excellent customer service are essential as you work directly with clients. A high school diploma and experience with diesel engines are required; ASE certifications are a plus

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working on diesel engines.
• Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record; CA license within 10 days following date of hire.
• Ability to regularly lift 30 pounds; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Adherence to federal, state and local regulations and OSHA policies.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related components.
• Troubleshoot engine performance issues.
• Replace worn parts and components including pistons, rings, bearings, seals and valves.
• Perform preventative maintenance and tune-ups on diesel engines.
• Use timing lights, compression testers and scan tools to diagnose and repair engines.
