Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Technician in Louisville to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll learn Penske’s maintenance processes with hands-on coaching and become proficient with our advanced diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical vehicle repair certification preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to solve problems and use basic shop tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Team player who works well in dynamic environments.
• Basic computer skills and compliance with Penske policies.
• Must meet DOT/OSHA safety policies and pass screenings.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Doing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires—and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
