Job summary

Ziegler Inc. has an opening for an experienced Diesel Technician to service a variety of compact construction equipment at our Dayton location. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 7:30am-5pm and Saturdays 8-noon.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or HS diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience.
• 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience.
• Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems; Caterpillar experience a plus but not required.
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems.
• Own mechanic tool set.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUVs, among other light and medium construction equipment
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge
