Job summary

Ziegler CAT in Dayton, MN is seeking a Rental Diesel Technician to service Ziegler owned rental equipment and non-CAT units. You will diagnose, repair, and document work orders, while following safety and quality standards at our Dayton location.

We offer competitive pay from $27.00 to $45.00 per hour, full benefits, paid time off, holidays, retirement plan, and training opportunities. Starting wage depends on skills and experience with 10% location-based variation.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience.
• 2+ years of relevant diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of engines, hydraulics, driveline, electrical/electronics, diesel exhaust systems, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required.
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members.
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems.
• Own mechanic tool set.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• This role is deemed safety sensitive and requires the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment including skid steers, compact wheel loaders, mini excavators, aerial lifts, tele-handlers, CUV's, among other light and medium construction equipment.
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards.
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge.
