Casella Waste is seeking a Diesel Technician Apprentice to support maintenance, repairs, and preventative tasks alongside a skilled technician. The role emphasizes safety, learning, and hands-on experience with vehicles and equipment.

As an apprentice, you will progress through defined training levels, starting with basic diagnostics and maintenance while advancing to more complex repairs as you gain competency. The program includes on-the-job training and safety emphasis in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Class A, B, or C Driver’s license.
• Basic knowledge or experience in automotive, diesel or heavy equipment diagnostics and repair.

Responsibilities

• Gains understanding of parts, processes, and maintenance techniques as instructed.
• Completes work orders and maintenance tasks based on inspections.
• Adheres to company safety policies and regulations for safe operations.
• Assists senior technicians with preventative maintenance inspections and larger projects.
• Learns to identify defects affecting equipment availability and operator safety.
• Performs brake, clutch, hydraulic, tyre, and hydraulic component adjustments as trained.
• Learns lockout/tagout procedures and participates in training opportunities.
