Casella Waste is seeking a Diesel Technician Apprentice to work alongside an experienced technician and learn essential maintenance tasks for vehicles and equipment. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance and safety, with hands-on training to build foundational skills.

The position includes on-the-job instruction, the completion of required training, and advancement opportunities as the trainee gains proficiency and progresses toward technician levels.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18.
• Valid driver's license and basic knowledge of automotive or heavy equipment diagnostics.
• Ability to work in a team and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic parts, processes and maintenance techniques from senior technicians.
• Complete work orders and perform maintenance based on inspections.
• Follow safety policies to ensure safe operations.
• Assist with preventative maintenance inspections and larger projects.
• Identify defects that affect equipment availability and operator safety.
