Job summary

Republic Services offers a Technician Apprenticeship program designed to train entry-level technicians over two years. Apprentices receive hands-on and classroom training, including nine weeks in Dallas and ongoing on-the-job mentorship as they progress toward certification and a Level C Technician role.

Participants gain exposure to electrical, hydraulic, air systems and preventive maintenance, with opportunities for career advancement and eventual placement in Bishopville, SC.

Qualifications

• Must commit to completing the two-year program.
• Logical problem solver with interest in engineering.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights/weekends/holidays.
• Willingness to uphold Republic Services values, safety, ethics and respect.
• Must travel to and live in Dallas, Texas for 9 weeks of in-person training; permanent shop in Bishopville, SC.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel fleet equipment.
• Learn electrical, air conditioning, hydraulics and wheel-end systems.
• Participate in the Republic Services Technical Institute training program and on-the-job training.
