Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, and braking systems.

The role covers engine work, HVAC, suspension, drive train, and electrical diagnostics to support our fleet and drivers. Expected to work with state‑of‑the‑art equipment, receive training on new technologies, and pursue professional growth within a stable shift pattern.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy‑duty trucks.
• Ability to diagnose multi‑system issues.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs complex repair tasks on‑site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies and braking systems repair (air and hydraulic).
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Diesel fuel systems and diagnostics knowledge.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems work.
• HVAC diagnostics and repair.
• Aftertreatment systems diagnostics and REGEN.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
• Identify malfunction sources with electronic tools.
• Complete company training programs.
