Job summary

Waste Pro New Orleans is seeking a Team-Oriented Diesel Mechanic to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body components on heavy and light duty trucks. The job may involve diesel and CNG systems, with welding and fabrication possible.

A 5K sign-on bonus and a monthly tool allowance of up to $50 are offered. Knowledge to diagnose and repair suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems; use of diagnostic tools; and ability to work with

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Suspension Inspections, Diagnosis and Repair.
• Knowledge of Brake System Inspections, Diagnosis and Repair.
• Knowledge of Electrical System Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair.
• Knowledge of Hydraulic System Inspection, Diagnosis and Repair.
• Proficient in the use of Diagnostic tools with the ability to interpret and make repairs from Service Manuals.
• Ability to complete work within Suggested Repair Times (SRTs) and the ability to estimate time and material required for repairs.
• Knowledge to provide assistance and guidance to Assistant Technicians and Shop Helpers.
• CDL Class B (preferred within 12 months).

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and repairs to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Communicates with managers/drivers regarding issues and preventive techniques.
• Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with standards.
• Utilizes diagnostic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintains high standard of ethics and dependability.
