Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks and related equipment, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance. The role requires documenting work orders and performing road call services as needed.

The position offers a 4-day work week (Sunday–Wednesday, 2:00 pm–1:00 am second shift), a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and benefits starting Day 1, including health coverage, 401(k) matching, education assistance, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PMs, tire & wheel, air & brake systems, diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting and A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment and identify root causes of basic failures.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registrations prior to roadworthy status.
• Document work orders thoroughly in the online system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings and other critical parts for proper operation.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and battery checks using hand and power tools.
• Handle road call services as needed.
