Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Phoenix, AZ to perform vehicle maintenance and repair on heavy-duty vehicles. The role offers weekly pay, paid training, PPE and uniforms, tool and boot allowances, and quarterly bonus opportunities.

The position requires basic tools, two years of relevant training/experience, and a CDL A (or ability to obtain CDL within six months). Second shift hours are 1:30 pm to 12:00 am, Sunday–Wednesday, with a 4-10 schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification post secondary degree or technical certifications, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• Valid CDL CLASS A, preferred.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
