Apprentice Trained Engine Technician

Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in St. Louis, MO.

You will make an impact in the following ways :

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance / repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Engage in ongoing development / certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

Responsibilities

In order to be successful in this role, you will need the following :

• Proficient knowledge in troubleshooting Cummins electrical and aftertreatment systems using Cummins Insite.
• Experience in replacing internal engine components (head, pistons, liners, etc.).
• Embrace and demonstrate Cummins values daily.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude that contributes to the team.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, Certifications :

• Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
• Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing to comply with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience :

• Intermediate knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
• A current valid driver's license is required
• Must be 18 years or older with at least 2 years of driving experience
• A 5-year motor vehicle report free of major violations is required

Nice to Have :

• A CDL may be required upon hire
• Federal law requires CDL holders to be 21 years or older
