Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Sharonville, Ohio. The role offers stability, weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and on‑the‑job training. Shift is second from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday with weekends off; no experience required to start.

Compensation includes hourly pay plus certification bonuses and quarterly bonuses. PPE, uniforms, tool and boot allowances, and state‑of‑the‑art equipment are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Post-secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (required).
• Two years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred).
• Valid CDL Class A (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance.
• Perform standard component inspections and repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable.
• Identify root cause of basic failures and perform repairs as required.
• Replace defective components as instructed.
• Perform facility maintenance duties.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
• Use Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Comply with safety, DOT, MOT guidelines.
• Perform other support duties as required to support operations.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $36.13
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, weekends off
• Hours: Second Shift 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm
• No experience needed
• On‑the‑job paid training

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
• Basic tools (required)
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
• Routine preventive maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work (required)
• Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
• This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:
• Obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
• Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
• Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)
• Perform other support duties as required to support operations, which may include but are not limited to Service Island support
