Job Responsibilities
- Prepare repair orders as per company policy.
- Work effectively and safely within the shop area and when making a road call without supervision.
- Complete records in a timely manner in compliance with company rules and requirements.
- Maintain and update knowledge of all DOT regulations, federal, state, local, and company standards regarding:
- Personal safety during maintenance operations on tractors and trailers.
- Maintaining a clean and safe shop environment.
- Disposal of all waste products, hazardous and non-hazardous.
- Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor as required.
Essential Job Functions
- Promote safety in all actions.
- Perform vehicle inspections and maintenance as per regulations.
- Ensure proper handling of components like air compressors, fuel pumps, hubs, wheels, and springs.
- Inspect, repair, or replace equipment such as domes, valves, vents, and other components.
- Display professional demeanor and good interpersonal skills.
- Dependability through good attendance and adherence to schedules.
Additional Responsibilities
- Carry out duties assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or CSC Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Willing to obtain ASE Brake certification within 180 days.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Self-starter with detail-oriented work habits.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Technical skills for inspecting and repairing vehicle components.
- Good interpersonal skills and dependability.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 100 pounds, and perform physical tasks as described.
Working Conditions
- Shop environment with concrete floors, sometimes uneven or slippery surfaces.
