Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Miami Lakes, FL.

In this role, you will make an impact by:

  1. Completing troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
  2. Performing preventative maintenance based on engine assessments, including utilizing computers/software for diagnostics.
  3. Applying documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  4. Completing necessary documentation such as work completion records, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  5. Participating in ongoing training and obtaining additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
  6. Adhering to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and reporting any issues or incidents to supervisors.
Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, the following is preferred:

Technician Level II: Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in scope for a diesel technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requiring limited supervision, and may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all products in scope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requiring minimal to no supervision; capable of effectively training and guiding less experienced technicians of varying skill levels.

The ability to obtain a CDL may be required.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary by location and may include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and other personal and professional benefits.

This position will be part of the FTA pool.

This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements, with ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
