Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Technician in Madison, WI.
Description: Seeking a Diesel Technician with DOT inspection experience and Cummins engine knowledge to service Yard Goats, Jockeys, and Switchers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting yard switchers, performing brake repairs, and conducting basic electrical diagnostics. Must be comfortable creating repair orders and working independently.

Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a fleet including light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty trucks, as well as CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
- Service and repair diesel engines, brakes, tires, AC, and perform regular PM services.
- Prepare vehicle records manually and digitally.
- Conduct safety inspections and prepare safety documentation.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Inspect and perform work on the undercarriage of vehicles.
- Access all areas of equipment or vehicles for maintenance.
- Transport parts to and from the job site and install/remove parts on vehicles.
- Communicate with clients via email and phone as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- At least 5+ years of vehicle maintenance experience or an auto/diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school.
- Experience with CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and warehouse equipment is highly desired.
- ASE Certifications are preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License - Class C.
- Proficient in computer skills: Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, Email.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
- Own hand tools and toolbox.
