Job description

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Indianapolis, IN.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Basic Maintenance and repairs

  • Engine and transmission replacement

  • Engine Overhauls

  • All aspects of chassis work to include brakes, steering and suspension

  • Electrical experience is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

This position will be responsible for troubleshooting and repair of Cummins engines as well as Chassis from various manufactures.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience:

  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

  • A current valid license is required for this role

  • This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

  • 3 years driving experience

  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
