Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Hermon, Maine.

• Hourly Pay: $26.50 per hour
• Sign-On Bonus: $3,500
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
• Toolbox/Tool Allowance: $250 annually
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours: Second shift, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational/Technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance like oil changes, brake, and tire work
• Two or more years of relevant classroom training and work experience preferred
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

• Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:
  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test
  • Pass DOT physical
  • Pass Ryder road test
  • Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from the last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Conduct standard vehicle and component inspections
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools
• Identify root causes and perform necessary repairs
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Maintain facility duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to clarify issues
• Use shop management systems and electronic documentation
• Follow all safety, DOT, MOT, and compliance guidelines
• Support operations with additional duties as needed, including service island support
