Job summary

NTC is seeking a part-time Diesel Instructional Assistant to support Diesel Technology faculty by preparing labs, equipment, tools, vehicles, and materials; assisting students and reinforcing safety practices. This grant-funded role supports hands-on instruction under faculty supervision.

This 24 hours/week position runs for 33 weeks per year, with HS/GED required and 3 years in the diesel repair industry; an Associate degree is preferred and CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED; Associate degree preferred.
• 3 years of experience in Diesel Equipment repair required.
• Math calculations related to diesel repair experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratories, vehicles, tools, equipment, parts, and instructional materials.
• Assist faculty during classroom, laboratory, and hands-on sessions.
• Provide individual or small-group student support.
• Promote safe work practices and address unsafe conditions.
• Maintain an orderly, professional learning environment.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
