Job summary

Performance Foodservice is hiring a diesel fleet technician to diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and reefer units, ensuring compliance with state and federal trucking regulations. The role requires inspecting brake systems, steering, wheel bearings, and performing PMs, with documentation of all work orders in the EAM system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and a minimum of 2 years in A/C refrigeration.
• Strong documentation and ability to complete work orders; road call capability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Complete and perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment and inspect components.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings and other critical parts for safe operation and replacement when needed.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration before roadworthy status.
• Document repairs and maintenance in the Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Use hand tools and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, batteries, lubrication.
• Train other employees and perform related duties as assigned.
