Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers in Aurora, Oregon. You will work in a fast-paced shop, performing diagnostics, planning repairs, and communicating with the Service Advisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, willingness to learn, and ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. You will join a team focused on safety and customer service, with attractive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work well with others and be excited to join the team.
• High school diploma or GED; trade school or equivalent mechanic experience preferred.
• Willingness to continue learning via training programs and education.
• Ability to work unsupervised when needed.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers following safety and industry standards.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results; communicate repair plan to Service Advisor.
• Repair malfunctioning parts and electrical/mechanical systems efficiently and safely.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Suggest additional TA services during inspection reviews with customers.
• Ensure the safety of customers and employees at all times.
