Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose and repair heavy duty trucks and trailers in a fast-paced environment. You will troubleshoot, interpret test results, and communicate repair plans to the Service Advisor while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, trade/technical schooling or prior mechanic experience, and a willingness to expand knowledge through training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; graduate of acceptable trade school or manufacturer’s technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
• Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs.
• Ability to work unsupervised and in flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy duty Trucks and Trailers.
• Perform diagnostic testing and develop repair plans to communicate to Service Advisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and uphold safety standards.
• Recommends other TA services during inspection reviews.
• Ensure safety of customers and employees.
