Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC in Nashville, TN is seeking a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs under supervision, with on-the-job training to achieve Service Journeyman status.

You will work on engines, fuel and electrical systems, cooling, transmissions, brakes, and general maintenance, participate in training, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while assisting the Shop Foreman as needed.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum of three years hands-on experience or graduation from a vocational program.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications are required.
• Must have the necessary tools to perform job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical duties and repairs.
• Work on engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling, brakes, and chassis.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and assist with repairs.
• Attend trainings and meetings; maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Provide input to Shop Foreman about additional repair work.
• Follow safety practices and use protective equipment.
