Job summary

Arrow Stage Lines in Omaha, NE is seeking a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic to maintain a fleet of late-model motorcoaches. The role focuses on diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and reliability of our equipment.

You'll work on brake and A/C systems, engines, electrical issues, and routine service. A valid driver's license and ability to pass DOT requirements are required; CDL with passenger endorsement is preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical college certificates preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CDL with passenger endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
  • DOT physical and drug testing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a fleet of late-model motorcoaches and support vehicles.
  • Ensure every coach is safe, reliable, and free of defects.
  • Diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and routine service.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering, wheel bearings, and related parts.
  • Repair and maintain engine components, including fuel injection and electrical systems.
  • Change tires on buses and support vehicles.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.

Salary Range: $26.00 To $38.00 Hourly

Join Arrow Stage Lines as a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic in Omaha and help maintain a pristine fleet of late-model, state-of-the-art motorcoaches. We are hiring for a 1st Shift position, working 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with pay based on experience at $26-$38 per hour. This is a great opportunity for a skilled mechanic who wants steady work, quality equipment, and a team environment where your expertise is respected.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain a fleet of pristine, late-model motorcoaches and support vehicles for our Great Plains facilities.
  • Help ensure every coach placed into service is safe, reliable, and free of mechanical defects.
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and routine service on fleet vehicles.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other parts to ensure proper operating condition.
  • Repair and maintain engine components, including fuel injection systems.
  • Repair electrical systems.
  • Change tires on buses and support vehicles.
  • Repair gas/diesel engines and A/C systems.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • Brake and A/C certifications are preferred.
  • Fleet maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug testing, background check, and back screening.
  • Ability to work on-call, evenings, and weekends as needed; on-call weeks can earn up to an additional $500.
  • Ability to find solutions and proactively address work-related problems.
  • Self-motivated and able to work efficiently and effectively under time and budgetary pressures.
  • Ability to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Reliable, with good attendance and punctuality.
  • Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
