Job summary

Arrow Stage Lines is hiring a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic in Kansas City, MO. The 1st shift runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pay ranges from $28 to $32 per hour, based on experience.

You will maintain late-model motorcoaches, perform diagnostics, and ensure safety and reliability of the fleet. Benefits include medical and dental, PTO, and 401(k) match. CDL with passenger endorsement is preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical college certificates preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CDL with passenger endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Brake and A/C certifications preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record; ability to pass DOT physical, drug testing, background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a fleet of pristine, late-model motorcoaches and support vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and routine service on fleet vehicles.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other parts to ensure proper operating condition.
• Repair and maintain engine components, including fuel injection systems.
• Repair electrical systems.
• Change tires on buses and support vehicles.
• Work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain a fleet of pristine, late-model motorcoaches and support vehicles for our Heart of America facilities.
• Help ensure every coach placed into service is safe, reliable, and free of mechanical defects.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and routine service on fleet vehicles.
• Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other parts to ensure proper operating condition.
• Repair and maintain engine components, including fuel injection systems.
• Repair electrical systems.
• Change tires on buses and support vehicles.
• Repair gas/diesel engines and A/C systems.
• Work evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Brake and A/C certifications are preferred.
• Fleet maintenance experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of basic computer functions.
• Ability to clearly communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug testing, background check, and back screening.
• Ability to work on-call, evenings, and weekends as needed; on-call weeks can earn up to an additional $500.
• Ability to find solutions and proactively address work-related problems.
• Self-motivated and able to work efficiently and effectively under time and budgetary pressures.
• Ability to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
• Reliable, with good attendance and punctuality.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
