Job summary

Greater Omaha Express in Omaha, NE is seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks. You will perform diagnostics on ABS, coolant and A/C systems, suspension, brakes, wheel seals, and electrical systems, and ensure accurate recording of hours on RO’s.

Applicants should have a mechanical background in heavy-duty trucking, own tools, and be a team player ready to start the shift. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR are required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and modify the listed vehicle systems including ABS, coolant, A/C, suspension, braking, and wheel seals.
• DOT inspections and accurate recording of descriptions and hours on repair orders.
• Learn and follow Greater Omaha Express’s best practices for correct and efficient repairs.
• Operate shop equipment and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Job description

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and modifications of the following:

• ABS brake systems
• Coolant systems
• Air Conditioning systems
• Suspension
• Tire replacement
• Drum & disc brake systems
• Wheel Seals
• Air & Electrical systems
• DOT Inspections
• Diagnose & provide recommendations on repairs
• Accurately record description & hours of all work performed on RO’s
• Learn and follow Greater Omaha Express’s best practices for correct & efficient repairs
• Operate shop equipment
• Maintain a clean & safe working environment
• Perform additional duties as needed

Requirements:

• Mechanical background in heavy duty trucking industry or similar field
• Have own tools
• Positive attitude and team player
• Ready to work at the start of the shift
• Able to move trucks in & out of the shop
• Valid Driver’s License & a satisfactory MVR - CDL Preferred
• Ability to pass post-offer physical & drug screen
