An opening exists for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repair under supervision, with on-the-job training to achieve Service Journeyman status in Odessa, TX.

The position requires tools, experience or vocational training, and certifications in A/C, Brake, and DOT inspection, with safety practices emphasized throughout training and daily work.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs general mechanical duties and assists in heavy-duty repairs.
• Gains experience on engine overhaul, fuel, electrical, transmissions, cooling, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with supervision and performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions, keeps a neat workspace, and handles company tools properly.
• Informs Shop Foreman if additional repair work is needed and follows safety procedures.
