Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC, a leading Kenworth truck dealership group, seeks a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic in Memphis. The role involves heavy-duty mechanical repair under supervision, with on-the-job training to achieve Service Journeyman status.

You will perform engine overhauls, fuel and electrical system work, and maintenance tasks, while attending training and maintaining a safe, organized shop area. CDL preferred and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs general mechanical duties and repairs.
• Gains experience on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, and maintenance.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems and attends trainings.
• Maintains a neat, safe working area and proper tool handling.
• Advises Shop Foreman on additional repair work and follows safety practices.
