Job summary

Kenworth Sales Co. is seeking a Service Technician (2nd Shift) for the Roanoke, VA area. Schedule: 3:30pm – Midnight, Monday–Friday. The role involves repairing and servicing customer equipment with focus on quality workmanship.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of heavy truck repair experience, a valid CDL or willingness to obtain one, and VA inspector certification or readiness to obtain it. Excellent benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills necessary to produce top results.
• A VA State Inspector's certification or willingness to obtain it.
• A valid class A or B CDL or the willingness to obtain one.
• Personal motivation and self-reliance.
• Desire to be the driver of team success.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.

Responsibilities

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman.
• Performs work directed in order and in a timely and thorough manner.
• Makes recommendations for additional services to customers as needed.
• Determines if further repairs should be recommended and communicates with the Shop Foreman.
• Maintains training and experience with equipment and servicing techniques.
• Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager.
• Performs additional repairs if customer returns due to technician workmanship.
• Maintains accurate work order records of work performed and time clocked jobs.
