Job summary

Kenworth Sales Company in Keyser, WV is looking for a Service Technician (2nd Shift) to perform high‑quality repairs on customer equipment and recommend additional services as appropriate. The role reports to the Shop Foreman and requires strong hands‑on skills with trucks and diesel systems.

Schedule: 3:30pm–Midnight, with a focus on safety, thorough workmanship, and accurate time/repair records. A valid CDL or willingness to obtain one, and state inspections credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• Outstanding mechanical aptitude and skills to produce top results.
• A VA State Inspector's certification or willingness to obtain it.
• A valid class A or B CDL or willingness to obtain one.
• Paccar, Cummins, and CAT Certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Personal motivation and self-reliance.
• Desire to drive team success.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.

Responsibilities

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman.
• Performs work directed in order and in a timely and thorough manner; maintains high workmanship standards.
• Advises Shop Foreman of recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
• Determines if further repairs or servicing should be recommended and communicates to Shop Foreman.
• Maintains training with equipment, machinery, and servicing techniques.
• Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager.
• Performs additional repairs when faults are found after customer pickup.
• Maintains accurate work order records and time clocks.
