Job summary

Kenworth Sales Co., a 38-location Kenworth and Isuzu truck dealership group, seeks a Service Technician (2nd Shift) in Harrisonburg, VA to perform high-quality repairs and recommend further services as determined by the technician.

The position requires at least 5 years of medium/heavy truck repair experience, VA Inspector certification or willingness to obtain it, and a CDL or willingness to obtain one. Schedule is 3:30pm–Midnight; Drug-Free Workplace with pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in medium and/or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
• VA State Inspector certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Valid Class A or B CDL or willingness to obtain one.
• Paccar, Cummins, and CAT certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information.
• Desire to be the driver of team success.

Responsibilities

• Receives repair order assignments from Shop Foreman.
• Performs work directed in order and in a timely and thorough manner; maintains superior workmanship.
• Advises Shop Foreman of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
• Determines if further repairs should be recommended and communicates to Shop Foreman.
• Maintains training and experience with specialized equipment and servicing techniques.
• Attends training sessions as required by the Service Manager.
• Performs additional repairs if any equipment is returned due to faulty workmanship.
• Maintains accurate work order records and time clocked jobs.
