Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. We are hiring a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty truck repairs with minimal supervision.

You will troubleshoot major problems, train apprentices, and maintain a clean, safe shop while keeping strong customer relations and collaborating with the Service Foreman on repairs.

Qualifications

• CDL required.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Must have at least one specialization (engine or drive train).
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience or vocational training.
• Necessary tools to perform the position.
• Strong customer relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment.
• Troubleshoot major problems.
• Train Apprentice Technicians.
• Maintain neat, safe work area and proper tool handling.
• Advise the Service Foreman on additional repairs.
• Maintain favorable relations with customers.
• Participate in training to stay updated on new technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
