Job summary

Salem Leasing is seeking a Reefer Technician to service diesel refrigeration units. This is a great opportunity for a driven technician with a can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent; 3 years diesel maintenance; 1 year of 608 refrigeration experience; CDL; own hand tools; basic computer skills; clean driving record. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• 1 year of 608 Refrigeration Technician experience.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• CDL license required.
• Good driving record and proven work history.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions
• Review work orders and discuss work with service manager
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined
• Plan work procedures, using charts, technical manuals, and experience
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems
• Comply with all safety, DOT and OSHA guidelines
• Adhere to company rules and regulations
• Ensure cleanliness of shop and surrounding areas
