Job summary

Salem Leasing seeks a CDL Diesel Mechanic to service trucks, trailers and related vehicles. You will diagnose problems, perform repairs and follow safety standards to keep equipment in top condition.

The role is on-site across our Southeast locations, offering uniforms, training and benefits, plus a sign-on bonus for new hires. HS diploma and basic tools are required, with CDL preferred and a good driving record.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• Must have own hand tools.
• CDL license preferred.
• Good driving record & proven work history.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat & cold temperatures.
• DIAGNOSTIC EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined & other potentially troublesome areas
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals & experience
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions
• Replace & adjust headlights
• Comply with all safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines
• Adhere to company rules & regulations
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas
