Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanic II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers, refrigeration systems, and Class 8 tractors. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, replace parts, and ensure safety standards are met.

The role requires the ability to read and follow service bulletins, maintain tools, and work independently or in a team. On-call rotation and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; trade school in heavy‑duty diesel or refrigeration preferred.
• Some job experience in vehicle or equipment maintenance and repairs is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand English at a level sufficient for safety and task execution.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers and refrigeration systems.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on Class 8 tractors.
• Conduct simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs without supervision.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, tires, batteries, drive lines, and related components.
• Read service bulletins and technical manuals; document work and input data.
• Maintain shop tools and comply with safety rules; be available for shop on-call rotation.
