McLane Company is seeking a Mechanic II in Minnesota to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration systems and related mechanical/electrical components. You will diagnose complex issues, read service bulletins, and complete all paperwork while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires 2 years of diesel repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and ASE PMI certification. A Class A is a plus. Benefits include health coverage, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 2 years job experience on diesel repairs, tractor-trailer, refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
• One year documented experience in fleet maintenance or one-year employment with company at upper scale of Class C Technician.
• Possess basic hand tools up to ½" drive and tool storage.
• Possess a current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck PMI (Test T8).
• Valid Class C Drivers License; Class A preferred but not required.
• Read, write, and understand English well enough to perform tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs (simple and complex).
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines; perform front wheel and axle alignments.
• Troubleshoot cooling systems; conduct diagnostic tests.
• Cut or weld using cutting torch and welding machine; read service bulletins and manuals.
• Complete all paperwork and computer input; comply with safety rules.
• Be trained and certified to operate required equipment within 30 days after hire.
• Maintain a flexible schedule and be available for on-call and road calls.
