Job summary

Hillsborough Community College seeks a Diesel program instructor to deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction while enforcing safety protocols. You will prepare daily lab activities, maintain equipment, and manage attendance and student records in a non-credit setting.

The role includes advising students on academic progress and employability opportunities, collaborating with outside agencies for job placement, and supporting recruitment and outreach to strengthen program success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus at least three years of related work experience.
• All instructors must hold current ASE certifications in T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, and T8.
• Preferred: Forklift, 609, OSHA 30 certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide Diesel program instruction, including classroom and hands-on lab activities.
• Enforce safety protocols when handling equipment and tools.
• Prepare daily labs, maintain workspace, and take attendance.
• Grade assignments and lab work, administer exams.
• Advise students on academic progress and employment opportunities.
• Collaborate with employers for potential job placement.
• Assist with recruiting, marketing, and outreach for the program.
