Job summary

Texas State Technical College seeks an Instructor to deliver applied curriculum, mentor students, and integrate technology to enrich learning experiences. The role includes developing syllabi, maintaining records, and supporting retention through collaboration with Student Success.

The position requires reading wiring diagrams, diesel experience, and HVAC/repair skills, with flexibility for evening or weekend responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Be able to read and understand wiring diagrams, perform resistance checks, and measure voltage drops.
• Be able to check and adjust all fluid levels as needed.
• Perform tire pressure monitoring system service and repairs.
• Repair and rebuild engines.
• Perform steering & suspension repairs, and system diagnosis.
• Service, repair & maintain HVAC 134a & 1234yf systems.
• 5 plus years in diesel industry related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver high quality instruction and facilitate the learning of students.
• Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans, and organize daily classes.
• Maintain accurate student records and a safe instructional environment.
• Advise students and collaborate with Student Success to boost retention.
• Recruit and promote programs through tours and events.
• Demonstrate collegial service and align with TSTC core values.
• Fulfill assigned schedule and mentor students throughout learning outcomes.
