JOB SUMMARY
As a Production Technician II Apprentice, you will work at the intersection of heavy-duty craftsmanship and advanced technology. Operating out of our specialized Modification Center, you will execute custom, client-specific installations, run new vehicle inspections, and perform precision fabrications on the latest Medium Duty and Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks.
This role is a fast track to mastering your trade alongside top-tier industry experts.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Custom Installations & Fabrication: Perform tailored modifications and upgrades on diverse truck systems based on client specifications.
- Diagnostics & Repairs: Inspect, diagnose, and resolve issues within complex electrical systems using modern OEM diagnostic software, laptops, and specialized tech tools.
- Precision Assembly: Follow industry’s best practices for electrical wire harness clamping, routing, and component installation.
- Digital Workflow Management: Utilize our Dealer Management System (DMS) and Dealer Portal to track parts, document repair details, and navigate OEM warranty processes.
- Mentorship: Act as a peer guide, providing support, technical guidance, and direction to entry-level Production Apprentices.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment by adhering to OSHA standards and LockOut/Tag-Out safety protocols.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Technical Aptitude: Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply information from digital service manuals, technical bulletins, and blueprints.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license is required. Must hold and maintain a PA Class 3 Inspection License and be qualified to perform Federal DOT inspections. CDL is a plus but not required.
- Certifications: Forklift operation certification, or the ability to obtain one through our training.
- Drive to Learn: A commitment to achieving and maintaining upcoming certifications required by the company, OEMs, or federal standards.
- Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication skills to interface effectively with teammates, vendors, and clients.
- Physical Capability: Ability to maneuver around, inside, and under heavy trucks. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. to the waist and 50 lbs. to the shoulder, with the physical agility to climb, crouch, kneel, and bend.
