Job summary

Savage is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Lake Charles, LA facility. The role focuses on preventative maintenance and repairs of pickups, mobile equipment, tractors and trailers to keep operations running smoothly.

You will work with the Maintenance Supervisor, utilize CMMS for maintenance records, and ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety procedures. This position requires mechanical aptitude and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Must pass drug & alcohol screen and have valid Driver’s License and TWIC at time of applying.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
• Ability to read, write and understand English and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Welding experience is a plus.
• Experience with CMMS is helpful.
• Willingness to perform a significant amount of preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor/major repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance on pickups, mobile equipment, tractors and trailers at Lake Charles, LA facility.
• Assist with other facility mechanical repairs as necessary.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and parts inventory.
• Learn and partner with Maintenance Supervisor to use CMMS for organization and maintenance records.
• Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements and safety rules.
• Assist with writing and revising maintenance procedures as needed.
• Support other areas of operation as directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
