Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Owensboro, KY is hiring a Diesel Technician Trainee to start a career in diesel maintenance. You will be paid while training to become a Ryder Diesel Mechanic Technician in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Weekly pay and benefits begin after 30 days of employment. No experience is required; the role offers on-the-job paid training, first shift hours 7:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with weekends off.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to communicate in English.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and professional conduct.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn equipment maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Move heavy duty vehicles and fuel correctly while following safety policies.
• Perform multi-point inspections and report issues to shop.
• Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards.
• Attend Technician Training Development Program and complete training milestones.
• Perform maintenance tasks and service island organization as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
