Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including steering, electrical, cooling, brakes, drive trains, suspensions, engines, and related duties, following all relevant guidelines. Test-drive vehicles post-repair.
• Arrange inspections and approvals for major repairs before releasing vehicles from maintenance.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment compliant with all regulations.
• Identify and report additional repairs needed during maintenance.
• Record work details accurately.
• Perform road calls and on-road repairs as assigned.
• Report unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse to Lead Technician.
• Uphold high ethical standards and integrity, reporting suspicious behavior.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic experience.
• Skills in diagnostics, electrical systems, and A/C systems.
• Knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.
• Experience with diesel and gasoline systems.
• Minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Valid state license; CDL preferred. Company offers free mechanic training.
• ASE certification is desirable but not required.
