Job summary

The DDS Companies is seeking a skilled Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair construction equipment and vehicles in our shop and on job sites as needed. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, perform preventive maintenance, and conduct required inspections to ensure safety and reliability.

Candidates should have 5+ years in the field, diesel repair experience, own tools, a valid license, and the ability to lift 100 lbs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician in construction or heavy-duty vehicles.
• 2+ years in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
• Valid Driver's License and own tools.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs and pass pre-employment physical.
• Overtime and weekend/holiday availability.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems on heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
• Execute NYSI and DOT annual inspections.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting, threading and welding.
• Inspect and test equipment to meet operating conditions.
• Ensure equipment/tools are clean, safe, and properly stored.
